Hello to all. I’m Stephen D. Senturia, now retired after a long career as Professor of Electrical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The purpose of this blog is to share my experiences garnered from more than fifty years of teaching, starting with my undergraduate days at Harvard College all the way to my present leading of peer-learning seminars at the Harvard Institute for Learning in Retirement. Along the way, I also plan to comment on the educational value, impact and risks inherent in the current craze for online learning, in general, and MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses), in particular.
